About Bridge the Gap

Moving your family to another country is one of the biggest things you will ever do.
A new language, a new system, a new life, all while making sure your children are okay. It's a lot! And most families are expected to just figure it out.
Bridge the Gap exists because that's not good enough. Every family deserves personalised support through the transition. Not generic advice, but real guidance built around your children, your situation, and where you're headed.
That's what I'm here for.
About the Founder

Who is Lizzie Bate?
I'm Lizzie, a British expat and mum who has made the Netherlands home.
I started Bridge the Gap because I know firsthand how overwhelming it can be to move your family to a new country. I'm living it too, raising my daughter here and learning something new about this place all the time.
I've spent 20 years working in primary international education, and I have a teaching degree specializing in English language, along with diplomas in TEFL, including teaching English to young children. I'm also currently working on developing my coaching skills further, because I genuinely believe there's always more to learn.
I've been lucky enough to live and work across South Africa, Australia, Egypt and much of Europe, and I speak several languages. More than anything, those experiences taught me what it really feels like to start over somewhere new.
I'd love to be the person who makes that a little easier for your family. So please, don't hesitate to reach out. I'm glad you're here.
